Information for Cycles, Toddlers, and At Home Classes

Hi, CYCLE OF SEASONS, TODDLERS and AT HOME families!

Picnic in the Park:  Oh, what to do!!!????!!!!  As I have sat here working all day looking out my window at the beautiful weather, it seems wrong to consider postponing tomorrows class, but, as I have watched the weather forecast move from 25% chance rain to 60%, and then seen the high winds warning, I think we'd better postpone.  However, the forecast for next Tuesday doesn't look great either, so we may have to be a bit flexible and play it by ear for a week or two until the weather cooperates.  I think that is better than trying to organize a different day of the week, as Tuesdays seemed to be what everyone needed.  Sorry, wish I had a facility large enough to do it!!

So, TODDLERS and CYCLES classes will NOT be held tomorrow, as the Picnic in the Park will be our final class.

Tuesday 1:30 HOME class WILL meet tomorrow, regular place and time.

Wednesday 9:00 HOME class WILL meet Wednesday, regular place and time.

We will hope for next week!!!

ALSO:

Fall Schedule Input forms are due by 8:00 AM, this FRIDAY the 25th.  I will be creating the schedule on Friday, so it will be posted on the website and at the studio by NEXT week.  Keep in mind, if you register by May 31, you pay only $10/child or $20/family for the Registration Fee (it goes up after that) and it also holds your child's spot in class.

Which class for next year?  One great thing about the Musikgarten curriculum is that it is very rich and very flexible.  This is one of many reasons that Musikgarten meets every child's developmental needs, musically, socially, intellectually, and otherwise.  This also gives you options in repeating curriculum when there are developmental reasons why a child may be better served by not moving ahead too quickly.  

TODDLERS:  There are two years of Toddler curriculum available.  Most Toddlers do Toddler class for 2-3 years.  Doesn't matter if they repeat a curriculum as they are in a different place developmentally the second time and will therefore learn different things.

CYCLES:  One year of curriculum available.  Most kids do Cycles for one year, as there are two years of curriculum available in TODDLERS and AT HOME so the need for it in Cycles isn't usually there.  If you feel your child might benefit from re-taking Cycles, give me a call and let's discuss it.

AT HOME:  There are two years of curriculum available.  Most children do both years:

     Year 1 covers MY HOME PLACE, MY NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY, and WOODLANDS, and the Brass and Percussion instrument families along with Recorder & Guitar.

     Year 2 covers SEASHORE, CATTAIL MARSH and MEADOW, and the Woodwind and String instrument families along with Flute and Harp.

We always review all 6 notation games and all the instrument families at the end of each year, so it's OK if a child does only one year of HOME class.  Talk to me if you have any questions.
